In Fall 2025, BOND hosted students from Cerritos, Fullerton, PCC, and Cal Poly Pomona to tour labs, learn about Caltech summer programs, and explore chemistry research. Thank you to the students and chaperones for making the trip out here, and we hope to see you all back on campus doing research!
It was an immense honor to join CCID in hosting Dr. Jessica Hernandez for a full day of programming that closed with her Book Talk, Growing Papaya Trees: Nurturing Indigenous Roots During Climate Displacement. Over lunch and coffee, students and community members chatted with Dr. Hernandez about infusing Indigenous practices into current approaches to science
Day of Inclusion is a biennial event BOND organizes to foster conversations about belonging and build an inclusive environment for all members of the Caltech chemistry and chemical engineering community. In 2025, we were honored to host Dr. Mona Minkara and Dr. Malika Jeffries-EL as our keynote speakers, who gave incredible talks across the two-day event. The programming also involves interactive workshops on topics like inclusive mentoring and indigenous science.
